Audition for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"
Auditions: June 2nd and 3rd at the Beaty Theater (4300 Sustainment Ave., Fort Gregg-Adams, VA)
Callbacks: June 8th and/or 9th (by invitation only)
Rehearsals will begin the week of June 16th for a September 5th - 21st run.
Homefront Players in association with Beaty Theater will hold auditions for its production of “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, this show has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor in a fast-paced, wildly funny, and touching script. An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.
Director - Caitlin Sneed, Musical Director - Storm Burks, and Choreographer - Aleece Hurt, are seeking a company of strong actors and singers for principal and ensemble roles. Character breakdowns can be found on the sign up link.
Please arrive 15-20 minutes ahead of your scheduled slot to fill out paperwork.
Those auditioning should prepare to sing 32-bars of a contemporary musical theater song demonstrating a tenor or mezzo-belter range. Please bring sheet music in the correct key and be dressed for movement.
