Each year we offer four scholarship opportunities, each a memorial to a beloved member of our Homefront community who valued the performing arts and supported them in different ways.
To be eligible for these scholarships, the applicant must:
If you plan on postponing entrance to college, additional requirements may apply.
Megan was an extremely bright student. She was a senior at UVA, majoring in broadcast journalism when she passed away. She performed in many productions at the Beaty Theatre. This scholarship is usually awarded to an onstage performer, but not limited to that.
Chris was the wife of Col. Bob Rightmyer. She was a devoted theater person who volunteered her time to find a new theater location, was a producer and liaison with Post commanders, and helped in any capacity she could. This scholarship was established to recognize those students who also support the theater both on and offstage, but is not limited to that.
Bob was always helping behind the scenes whether it was working a light or sound board or helping out wherever needed. He worked as the theater company’s accountant for many years. After his wife, Chris, passed away, he wanted to continue her legacy with the Theater Company. This scholarship was established to recognize students who contribute in a behind-the-scenes capacity.
Sarah was a true all-around student and performer. She was involved in many productions in which she danced, sang, and acted. Sarah was eager to learn and even earned the Megan Stoker scholarship as a senior in high school. This scholarship was established to recognize students who are all-around good
citizens.
